A mission of
the Sjolander Rd Fellowship, Baytown, Texas
Background
and Purpose: Sjolander Road Fellowship came into existence in
1990, the outgrowth of an extended study of biblical eschatology
(end time events). This study resulted in a marked departure from
Orthodox Christian eschatology, which always anticipates a dramatic
conclusion to human history in the imminent future. The eschatological
outlook of this fellowship is akin to that of fulfilled or covenant
eschatology, which recognizes a 1st Century completion of all God's
work in Christ.
Since its beginning
Sjolander Road Fellowship has been involved in an effort to better
understand the long term implications of a fulfilled eschatology.
In this effort a greater appreciation of God and his nature has
emerged, including the recognition that God cannot fail in His stated
purpose to save all mankind (Romans 5:18-19; I Timothy 2:3-4, 4:10;
I Corinthians 15:22). Viewing God's redemptive work as truly universal,
not just in potential but in fact, not only restores the majesty
of God but also answers so many of the nagging issues which trouble
Orthodoxy. This understanding, variously known as "comprehensive
grace" , "gospel of inclusion", or "ultimate
reconciliation", provides a viable biblical viewpoint without
many of the logical inconsistencies and obvious ethical problems
so pronounced in traditional Christian theology.
It is for the
purpose of sharing this new view of God and his purpose for mankind
that this web site is dedicated.
